Colossians 1:22
But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.
In order for any of us to receive eternal life with God, we need to be absolutely perfect. We need to have no sin in our life. There is no one in the world who hasn't sinned ever, except for Jesus. But we do have a chance to receive eternal life through Jesus. He died on the cross for all of us to take all of sins that we have or will ever commit. He put it all on himself so we can be blameless, and have eternal life. That is such a wonderful thought, to know that Jesus died for everyone. He cared enough to go through all that pain, so we (who are far from perfect) could have a chance at eternal life.
"For while we were still weak, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous man--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--but god shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8

I believe you to be so very true. We have to be sinless, blameless... perfect. But we can't be perfect, we're human. Only through Christ can we be perfect. When God looks at us He needs to see His Son.
