I Thought You Were My Best Friend?

Don't you remember when you were five and you met someone in preschool that had the same color shirt on and you both were immediately best friends? You had many play dates and just enjoyed being in each others company. Then as you both grow older and adolescence hits you both, you both drift apart.

As we get older our group of friends are going to change. That best friend that you had when you were five most likely will not be your best friend for your entire life. People drift apart as interests and people change. Since we are all growing up slowly whether you are 10 or 20, everyone changes. And sometimes you won't keep the same friends. I've lost many good friends in my life, and it is super hard. But you have to just keep in mind that you will meet new friends.

When things get tough sometimes you may lose some of your friends, because they don't want to deal with all the issues that is going on. Trust me, I've been through that too. When you go through tough times your true friends will stick. This year especially I've found out who my true friends were.

One person that you can always count on being there with you through thick and thin is Jesus. He will never leave your side. When things get rough he will always be there to encourage you and fight for you. All you have to do is ask Him. Isn't that just an amazing feeling to know that he will always be your friend?

  2. Wow, this is so true! Friends may let us down, but God will never break his promises. I've lost a lot of friends over the years, and it's been so encouraging to know that God will always be there.
Thanks for this wonderful post :)
